LiveCast Announces DIY Event livecasting Leveraging Ultra Mobile PC Power and Portability
LiveCast Pro™ beta for Windows XP portable devices provides an automated, high-quality solution for livecasting events live from anywhere
Vancouver — October 9, 2006 -- LiveCast Media Inc, an innovator in the mobile video broadcasting industry, unveiled LiveCast Pro™, a PC-based personal livecasting solution. Demonstrated in Intel’s Ultra Mobile PC (UMPC) Community Showcase last week at the Intel Developer Forum, LiveCast Pro beta now extends the automated livecasting features and functionality of the Company’s award-winning mobile phone application, LiveCast™, to the portable PC platform enabling enhanced LiveCast quality.
The simple and cost-effective service is perfect for enabling DIY broadcasts of important family gatherings, entertainment venues, or educational seminars. The LiveCast Pro beta functions with any portable PC device with a built-in camera, or connected Web cam/DV cam, and network access through a cellular PC card or wireless broadband connection.
"As PC devices become more powerful and portable, they offer the ideal platform for live livecasting of all types of personal and professional events, however, the missing piece of the equation has always been the automated software and services that make the process 'one-button' simple — this is what LiveCast provides," says William Mutual, LiveCast CEO. "With the launch of LiveCast Pro beta, we have now opened up our automated livecasting solution to anyone, anywhere through a variety of portable platforms ranging from pocket-sized mobile phones to powerful UMPC’s and laptops."
LiveCast’s automated services are powered by the company’s "Bandwidth Exchange," a patent-pending network and account management system that controls bandwidth consumption, account permissions, video storage, monitoring, reporting, and billing. LiveCast’s automated streaming server architecture has transformed the state of livecasting from its existing labor intensive limitations, propelling it into a simple and inexpensive mobile communication service.
"We were very excited our 'Heart of Silicon Valley' charitable fund raising event featuring Grammy Award winning artists David Benoit and David Pack was able to reach donors who could not personally attend," stated Jeff Pollock, co-founder of the Heart of Silicon Valley. "LiveCast’s automated LiveCast Pro livecasting solution makes our dream of reaching a global audience and lengthening our market reach, finally become a reality."
Anyone interested in applying for the LiveCast Pro beta program can sign up at LiveCast’s website, through October 2006. The solution is expected to publicly launch in Q4 2006, and will be available for a low monthly subscription fee or per-event basis.
