1. What is mobile LiveCasting?

Mobile LiveCasting enables "one to many" video streaming, whereby your cameraphone provides the originating live feed. Any place that you can receive a mobile data signal will enable immediate, "one button simple" live video transmission to the globe.
Your originating video stream is received by the LiveCast automated streaming server network, where it is "propagated" (or multiplied). This allows the video to be broadcast to as many concurrent viewers as you require. Your content is also archived on-the-fly on LiveCast servers, for post event video-on-demand delivery.

2. What do I need to LiveCast from my mobile?

You will need:
- An active LiveCast account.
- A compatible mobile device with video recording ability.
- LiveCast's free LiveCast software installed.
- A data account with your mobile network carrier.

3. What mobile devices are supported?

Compatible mobile devices for LiveCast currently include Windows Mobile5/6 devices, select Symbian, Windows PocketPC 2003 and CE devices.
We are constantly adding new devices to our list of compatible mobile devices.

4. What network connection do I need?

Of course, the faster, the better. Encoding quality of the video is optimized for all major wireless networks, including: GPRS, 1xRTT, EDGE, UMTS, EV-DO, EV-DO Rev.A, BGAN, WiFi, HSDPA, WiBro and WiMax. Please note - LiveCast does not recommend using GPRS (or its' cousin EDGE), as these networks tend to suffer from unreliable consistency of available data channel.
Check with your wireless network provider to obtain a data account. For regular LiveCasting, we strongly recommend purchasing an "all you can eat" data account, if available. Alternatively, many operators offer pricing for a block of multiple hours of service or, alternatively data consumption at reasonable rates, priced by the gigabyte. Avoid a metered kilobyte plan, as this will likely be overly expensive (although this will certainly make your operator pleased).
Another point to consider, you will be utilizing the "uplink" capacity of your data account. In general, the larger the kbps rate that your data account provides for, the better the quality of video your viewers will receive.
The speed of your originating video feed will dictate data requirement necessary for each viewer (i.e. if you are transmitting at 300 kbps Wifi speed, viewers on a 28 kbps GPRS phone will be unable to view your content). Tailor your data for the expected viewer rate to ensure maximum compatibility.

5. How do I get started?

Sign up for an account and download/install the appropriate LiveCast software on your mobile device.
When you're ready to start streaming, launch LiveCast on your mobile device, check your settings (setup), and ensure you are actively connected to the internet.
Press the start button and you are LiveCasting! During the LiveCast, you can automatically send a link to notify viewers of the LiveCast.

When you choose to post the video to your Blog during a LiveCast, the system automatically signs into your Blog and provides a link to the LiveCast.
Alternatively, if your video is saved, the link to the saved file can be posted to your Blog at any time via MY VIDEO.
